THE NURSING FACULTY SHORTAGE SIGNIFICANTLY IMPACTS THE NURSING WORKFORCE BY LIMITING THE NUMBER OF STUDENTS NURSING PROGRAMS CAN ACCEPT, ULTIMATELY HINDERING THE ABILITY TO PRODUCE ENOUGH QUALIFIED NURSES TO MEET GROWING HEALTHCARE DEMANDS, LEADING TO A WIDER NURSING SHORTAGE AND POTENTIAL NEGATIVE IMPACTS ON PATIENT CARE DUE TO INSUFFICIENT STAFFING LEVELS; ESSENTIALLY, FEWER QUALIFIED INSTRUCTORS MEAN FEWER NEW NURSES CAN BE TRAINED TO ENTER THE FIELD. BARNES-JEWISH COLLEGE GOLDFARB SCHOOL OF NURSING IS SEEKING FUNDING THROUGH THE NURSE FACULTY LOAN PROGRAM TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL SUPPORT TO ENABLE OUR MSN, DNP, AND PHD STUDENTS TO COMPLETE A CURRICULUM WITH A STRONG EMPHASIS ON TEACHING AND LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT, ENSURING THEIR READINESS TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE NURSING WORKFORCE BY EDUCATING THE NEXT GENERATION OF NURSES IN AN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITY UPON GRADUATION. THE NURSE FACULTY LOAN PROGRAM WILL ALLOW OUR GRADUATES TO ASSUME FULL-TIME FACULTY POSITIONS IN NURSING EDUCATION WHILE DECREASING THE MONETARY BURDEN UPON GRADUATION THAT OFTEN PROHIBITS POTENTIAL STUDENTS FROM ADVANCING THEIR EDUCATION.
