AS A PRIVATE NON-PROFIT HUMAN SERVICES AND HEALTH CARE ORGANIZATION, TELESPOND SENIOR SERVICES INC. PROVIDES A NO CLOSED DOORS APPROACH TO SENIOR CARE. SINCE ITS INCEPTION IN 1974, TELESPOND HAS AIMED TO PROVIDE AGING ADULTS THE SUPPORT THEY NEED TO MAINTAIN THEIR INDEPENDENCE, LIVE WITH DIGNITY, AND REMAIN HEALTHY AND SAFE IN THEIR OWN HOMES WITH THEIR LOVING FAMILIES. TO MEET THE SOCIAL AND HEALTH NEEDS OF OLDER ADULTS IN NORTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA TELESPOND OVERSEES FIVE-PROGRAMS WHICH OFFER OLDER ADULTS VOLUNTEER WORK OPPORTUNITIES, ADULT DAY CARE, AND HOME CARE COORDINATION. ADDITIONALLY, IN 2023 TELESPOND BROKE GROUND ON THE OLDER ADULT ADVOCACY CENTER (OAAC). THE OAAC WILL PROVIDE OLDER ADULTS EXPERIENCING HOUSING INSECURITY DUE TO ABUSE OR NEGLECT A TRANSITIONAL SAFE SPACE THAT WILL SUPPORT HEALING AND STABILIZATION. ALL PROGRAMS ARE OFFERED FROM TELESPOND'S FACILITY IN SCRANTON, PA.
