RECOVERY WITHOUT LIMITS: RESTORING HOPE ACROSS THE LAUREL HIGHLANDS - FAVOR LAUREL HIGHLANDS, A RECOVERY COMMUNITY ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZED THROUGH THE ALLIANCE FOR RECOVERY CENTERED ORGANIZATIONS (ARCO), WILL SERVE ADULTS RECOVERING FROM SUBSTANCE USE DISORDERS (SUD) AND CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS (COD) THROUGHOUT CAMBRIA COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING RURAL COMMUNITIES OF SOMERSET, BEDFORD, AND BLAIR COUNTIES. THIS PROJECT EXPANDS ACCESS TO RECOVERY BY BRINGING CERTIFIED RECOVERY SPECIALISTS INTO THE RURAL LAUREL HIGHLANDS REGION OF PENNSYLVANIA, LOCATED IN APPALACHIA WHERE TRANSPORTATION, WORKFORCE SHORTAGES, AND GEOGRAPHIC ISOLATION TOO OFTEN PREVENT INDIVIDUALS FROM SUSTAINING RECOVERY. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE INDIVIDUALIZED PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES (PRSS) TO APPROXIMATELY 250 UNDUPLICATED PARTICIPANTS DURING YEAR 1, 300 DURING YEAR 2, AND 350 DURING YEAR 3, FOR A TOTAL OF 900 PARTICIPANTS OVER THE THREE-YEAR PROJECT PERIOD. SERVICES ARE ORGANIZED AROUND A RECOVERY CAPITAL FRAMEWORK AND UTILIZE EVIDENCE-BASED AND EVIDENCE-INFORMED PRACTICES, INCLUDING MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING, THE TRANSTHEORETICAL MODEL (STAGES OF CHANGE), WELLNESS RECOVERY ACTION PLAN (WRAP), SMART RECOVERY, AND WHOLE HEALTH ACTION MANAGEMENT (WHAM). THE PROJECT AIMS TO SUSTAIN UNINTERRUPTED PEER RECOVERY SUPPORT SERVICES, EXPAND RURAL ACCESS, STRENGTHEN THE REGIONAL RECOVERY CONTINUUM, AND INCREASE RECOVERY CAPITAL AND LONG-TERM OUTCOMES THROUGH PERSON-CENTERED, PEER-LED SERVICES.
