PURPOSE OF AWARD SUMMARY OF THE GOALS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT THE GOAL OF THIS PROJECT IS TO TEACH BASIC BOATING TRIP PREPARATION SKILLS, RIVER ECOLOGY, AND INTRODUCE WESTERN WATER ISSUES, MANAGEMENT, AND CONSERVATION TO LOCAL YOUTH THROUGH A SERIES OF CAMPS CONDUCTED ON THE YAMPA RIVER, LOCATED IN NORTHWEST COLORADO THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES PARTIAL SALARY SUPPORT FOR FRIENDS OF THE YAMPA TO HIRE SEASONAL STAFF TO ASSIST WITH CAMP LOGISTICS AND IMPLEMENTATION STAFF WILL COORDINATE THREE TO FIVE 3 DAY YOUTH RIVER CAMPS THAT WILL REACH APPROXIMATELY 48 STUDENTS IN GRADE 7 9 PER YEAR STAFF WILL ALSO ASSIST WITH LOGISTICAL SUPPORT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FOUR TO SIX NATURAL RESOURCE MANAGEMENT AND RESEARCH RIVER TRIPS IN DINO WHEN COMPLETE, THIS PROJECT WILL RESULT IN AN EDUCATIONAL AND RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITY FOR REGIONAL YAMPA VALLEY YOUTH AND ENHANCE AN EXISTING LONG TERM RELATIONSHIP WITH A PARTNER ORGANIZATION THAT PROVIDES VOLUNTEER SUPPORT AND LABOR FOR CRITICAL NATURAL RESOURCE OPERATIONS WITHIN THE RIVER CANYONS OF DINO SUMMARY OF PROJECT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES AS PART OF THIS PROJECT, FRIENDS OF THE YAMPA WILL HIRE SEASONAL STAFF FOR UP TO 13 WEEKS THAT WILL COORDINATE ALL YOUTH CAMP LOGISTICS AND ASSIST WITH RIVER CAMP CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT FOTY STAFF WILL ALSO ASSIST DINO STAFF WITH YOUTH CAMP IMPLEMENTATION AND ADULT VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT FOR DINO RIVER TRIPS AND PROVIDE SUPPORT TO DINO STAFF ON DINO WORK RELATED RIVER RESEARCH TRIPS PERFORMANCE GOALS INCLUDING MILESTONES AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES AT THE END OF EACH CALENDAR YEAR, THE SEASONAL STAFF WILL HAVE ASSISTED IN COORDINATING LOGISTICS AND CURRICULUM FOR MULTIPLE YOUTH RIVER CAMPS IT IS ANTICIPATED THAT 48 TEENAGERS WILL BE REACHED THROUGH THESE CAMPS ANNUALLY STAFF WILL ALSO HAVE ASSISTED WITH VOLUNTEER RECRUITMENT EFFORTS, VOLUNTEER TRAINING, AND BETWEEN FOUR AND SIX DINO RESEARCH RIVER TRIPS AN ANNUAL REPORT WILL BE PROVIDED TO DINO AT THE CONCLUSION OF THE CALENDAR YEAR ON ALL WORK THAT TRANSPIRED DURING THAT YEAR, INCLUDING NUMBER OF STUDENTS TAUGHT, VOLUNTEERS TRAINED, AND SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES THAT THE SEASONAL EMPLOYEE ORGANIZED OR DIRECTED BENEFICIARIES THE BENEFICIARIES OF THIS PROJECT INCLUDE THE PUBLIC, INCLUDING REGIONAL YOUTH WHO WILL PARTICIPATE IN RIVER YOUTH CAMPS THE NPS WHO WILL BENEFIT FROM HAVING SUPPORT STAFF ON WORK RELATED RIVER RESEARCH TRIPS AND ENSURE THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE STEWARDS THROUGH RIVER CAMP CURRICULUM AND FOTY
