THE GOAL OF FOCUS ON UNDER-RESOURCED TRIBAL AND HOME RULE (FURTHR) IS TO IMPROVE THE BASE ENERGY EFFICIENCY REQUIREMENTS AND BUILDING PRACTICES IN COMMUNITIES THAT HISTORICALLY HAVE HAD CHALLENGES AND BEEN UNDER-RESOURCED IN ADVANCING AND IMPLEMENTING STRONG ENERGY CODES, SPECIFICALLY TRIBAL NATIONS AND HOME RULE COMMUNITIES, THROUGH THE ALIGNMENT OF ENERGY CODE BENEFITS AND COMMUNITY VALUES. THIS PROJECT WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING FOUR OBJECTIVES: OBJECTIVE 1: UNDERSTAND GAPS AND PRIORITIZE NEEDS ACCORDING TO COMMUNITY VALUES; OBJECTIVE 2: BUILD STRONG RELATIONSHIPS AND NETWORKS; OBJECTIVE 3: DEVELOP NECESSARY RESOURCES AND TOOLS; AND OBJECTIVE 4: IMPLEMENT TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING. MEETING THESE OBJECTIVES WILL CREATE THE FOLLOWING OUTCOMES: OUTCOME 1: REPLICABLE LOCAL PLANS; OUTCOME 2: A STRONG STAKEHOLDER NETWORK AND ROBUST WORKFORCE; OUTCOME 3: PRIORITIZED AND NECESSARY COMPLIANCE TOOLS AND RESOURCES; AND OUTCOME 4: IMPROVED ENERGY CODE ADOPTION AND COMPLIANCE IN TRIBAL NATIONS AND HOME RULE COMMUNITIES.
