DELIVERABLES THIS PROJECT WILL SERVE 350 UNDUPLICATED WOMEN THROUGH THE STATES OF WASHINGTON, OREGON, AND OKLAHOMA. THE PROJECT WILL CREATE TWO NEW PRE-APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM WITH A FOCUS ON RECRUITING UNDERSERVED WOMEN AS WELL AS THE EXPANSION OF 5 EXISTING PRE-APPRENTICESHIPS. THERE WILL ALSO BE A FOCUS ON THE EXPANSION OF THE RISE UP 4 EQUITY CONSTRUCTION WORKPLACE CULTURE PROGRAM BY SERVING OVER 80 APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAMS, 25 PUBLIC ENTITIES, 100 CONTRACTORS, AND 15 UNIONS WITH ITS TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PRODUCTS AND SERVICES. LIFE ANEW RESTORATIVE JUSTICE WILL ADDRESS THE BASIC NEEDS OF CRIME VICTIMS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES, ENSURING THAT CLIENTS RECEIVE ESSENTIAL SERVICES SUCH AS FOOD, HOUSING, ANDEMOTIONAL SUPPORT. THE PROJECT WILL PROVIDE TRAUMA INFORMED SUPPORT TO AT LEAST 70 INDIVIDUALS ANNUALLY INCLUDING TRANSPORTATION, TEMPORARY HOUSING, FOOD, CLOTHING, MEDICAL EXPENSES, IDENTIFICATION ASSISTANCE, AND CHILDCARE REDUCING. THE GOAL IS TO REDUCE THE IMPACT OF VICTIMIZATION AND HELP SURVIVORS REGAIN STABILITY AND SECURITY IN THEIR LIVES. POPULATIONS EXPECTED TO RECEIVE SERVICES INCLUDE DIVERSE RACIAL AND ETHNIC GROUPS, PRIMARILY AFRICAN AMERICAN AND HISPANIC INDIVIDUALS IN AUSTIN AND WACO, TX.

THE PUBLIC PURPOSE OF THE GRANT IS TO ENGAGE AND SUPPORT THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTORS TO PRESERVE HISTORIC ROUTE 66, AN ICON OF AMERICA IN THE 20TH CENTURY. AS PER PUBLIC LAW 106-45, THE PROGRAM SUPPORTS EFFORTS OF LOCAL AND STATE AGENCIES, PUBLIC AND PRIVATE PERSONS, NONPROFITS, AMERICAN INDIAN TRIBES, AND OTHER ENTITIES IN THE STATES FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE ROUTE 66 CORRIDOR BY PROVIDING TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND COST-SHARE GRANTS. THE COST-SHARE GRANTS MAKE A DIRECT IMPACT TO THE ROAD BY PROVIDING RESOURCES TO THOSE IN THE BEST POSITION TO REVITALIZE THE INFRASTRUCTURE OF THE ROUTE, I.E., THE MANAGERS, STEWARDS AND OWNERS OF SITES AND BUSINESSES ALONG THE ROUTE. THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OF THE AWARD IS TO PRODUCE THREE VIDEO EDUCATIONAL MODULES TO BE USED IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO.SUMMARY OF PROJECT SPECIFIC ACTIVITIES:THE SPECIFIC PROJECT ACTIVITIES ARE TO PRODUCE THREE VIDEO EDUCATIONAL MODULES TO BE USED IN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SCHOOLS THROUGHOUT THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO. THE MODULES WILL INTRODUCE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO DIFFERENT FACETS OF THE ROUTE 66 INCLUDING ITS HISTORY, AND HOW IT SERVED TRAVELERS WHILE ALSO SHAPING NEW MEXICOS COMMUNITIES, BUSINESSES, AND DIVERSE CULTURES.PERFORMANCE GOALS INCLUDING MILESTONES AND EXPECTED OUTCOMES:THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT ARE TO PROVIDE NEW MEXICAN STUDENTS WITH A GREATER UNDERSTANDING THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HISTORIC US HIGHWAY 66, WHILE ALSO EDUCATING THEM AND MEETING SPECIFIC NMPED ACADEMIC STANDARDS. THE MODULES WILL ALSO BE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC AND DISTRIBUTED BROADLY THROUGH YOUTUBE AND TO ANY ORGANIZATION OR GROUP INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT OR PROMOTING ROUTE 66. BENEFICIARIES:THE BENEFICIARIES OF THE PROJECT ARE MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS AND EDUCATORS IN NEW MEXICO AND OTHER STATES.
