THE INUIT CIRCUMPOLAR COUNCIL COMMUNITY FUNDED PROJECT IS TO SUPPORT THE MEANINGFUL ENGAGEMENT OF ALASKAN INUIT AND INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE AS PART OF THE U.S. DELEGATION TO THE CENTRAL ARCTIC OCEAN FISHERIES AGREEMENT. THE SUPPORT OF THIS PROCESS REQUIRES STAFF AND LEADERSHIP TIME TO FACILITATE, COORDINATE, MANAGE, AND OVERSEE THE ENGAGEMENT OF ALASKAN INUIT FROM THE NORTH SLOPE, NORTHWEST ARCTIC, BERING STRAIT, AND YUKON-KUSKOKWIM DELTA REGIONS. THIS FUNDING ALSO SUPPORTS THE TRAVEL FOR ALASKAN INUIT DELEGATES TO DIRECTLY ENGAGE IN ANNUAL MEETINGS THAT ROTATE THROUGH THE 10 PARTY STATES, ANNUAL ALASKAN INUIT DELEGATES MEETING, ANNUAL U.S. DELEGATION MEETINGS, AN ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE, AND REGIONAL/DOMESTIC ENGAGEMENT MEETINGS OVER A 3-YEAR PERIOD.

15.944 NATURAL RESOURCES STEWARDSHIP:THE NATURAL RESOURCE STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM IS THE PRINCIPLE MEANS THROUGH WHICH THE NATIONALPARK SERVICE (NPS) EVALUATES AND IMPROVES THE HEALTH OF WATERSHEDS, LANDSCAPES, AND MARINE AND COASTALRESOURCES, SUSTAINS BIOLOGICAL COMMUNITIES ON THE LANDS AND WATERS IN PARKS, AND ACTIVELY ENDEAVORS TOIMPROVE THE RESILIENCY OF THESE NATURAL RESOURCES AND ADAPT THEM TO THE EFFECTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE. TO CARRYOUT AND FURTHER THIS STEWARDSHIP RESPONSIBILITY, NPS IMPLEMENTS PROGRAMS THAT ENCOMPASS A BROAD RANGEOF RESEARCH, OPERATIONAL, AND EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES BY UTILIZING PARK PERSONNEL AND CONTRACTOR SUPPORT OR COOPERATIVE AGREEMENTS. THE GOAL OF THIS AGREEMENT IS TO PARTNER WITH THE INUIT CIRCUMPOLAR COUNCIL TO SUPPORT AND ENGAGE NATIVE VILLAGES AND INDIGENOUS KNOWLEDGE (IK) HOLDERS TO PARTICIPATE IN A CO-PRODUCTION OF KNOWLEDGE FRAMEWORK TO ASSESS COASTAL RELATED SPECIES IDENTIFIED FOR BIODIVERSITY MONITORING. BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE THE TRIBES, RESEARCHERS AND THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
